BOULET
Boulet combines a bronze ball — a direct reference to the shackles once used on prisoners — with two raw concrete blocks.
This contrast between a noble material and a common, industrial one challenges the persistence of systems of control. Bronze sanctifies the instrument of submission, while the concrete block — standardized and devoid of memory — evokes a society built on repetition and forgetfulness.
Without body or movement, the piece reveals a constraint that has become useless, yet still lingers — a connection without tension, a burden inherited and no longer justified.
Boulet raises a fundamental question:
What chains do we still carry, when nothing binds us anymore?
